Probably crazy, probably adventurous and probably just a little too much wine, Ona set a booth in an industrial exhibition. Our neighbours were kitchen builders, heating system engineers, doors builders, building contractors and the list goes on. STOOD OUT we definitely did as usual!

Ona found an opportunity to get to know its' future clients better by hanging out at the same place its' "future" clients do. Here's the story, the current economy is really kicking, we being a fairly new company needs to be aggressive. You can call it desperation or wisdom, although we do hope it's the second, ha. We spent 3 days working out of our comfort zone, and goes from one booth to the other introducing ourselves and what we offer. Although the experience is rather daunting to a fellow collaborator who rather hide herself under her mac like many designers alike, but it was a mission had to be done. Thankfully, together with a few collaborators, Ona glided smoothly throughout the whole exhibitions giving out name cards and posters.

As to this minute, Ona is busy preparing for their 1st exhibition for tomorrow at ''ΣΥΓΧΡΟΝΟ ΚΤΙΣΜΑ''. This exhibition will last for 4 days. We have prepared a poster as a give away. Here is the preview.

Experimenting with visual metaphors with Luba Lukova

Handcrafting visual ideas with Vladimir Zimakov

Ona spent a fantastic and fruitful weekend 17-19 September attending the first Mediterranean Design Workshop. It was organized by design professionals, encouraging a global view on everything design-related, and anything design can find common ground with for a creative intercourse.

We were very pleased that internationally recognized New York based Luba Lukova were one of the main speakers. Also with her as speakers were, Vladmir Zimakov an outstanding illustrator and print maker from Los Angeles, amazing Troika from London who WOW us with many of their installations and Ron Walkey an architect from Canada who split his time between Tinos and Berlin gave us a very stimulating seminar about the theme of the workshop. Other speakers who presented were Sophia Tsourti, Dimitris Karaiskos, graphic designer Lahav Halevy from Tel Aviv, Evangelos & Valentini Kaimaki and Lewis Samuels a serious surfer, journalist and writer from San Francisco.

Unlike many design seminars or workshops that we have been to, it was very insightful and non self indulgent at all. It wasn't about gathering designers from around the world in one room to show work nor talk about themselves however the workshop was carried under one theme for the 3 days which is Man vs Machine. Although it was set in a vacation environment it wasn't a vacation at all. It was serious business, we were working, learning new techniques and experimenting with our creative projects during the workshop while half of the time, paying to full attention to the speakers on what their inputs are on the theme Hand vs Machine in art and design.

Throughout this workshop, we reminded ourselves to be creative with our hands again and not solely by clicking the mouse.
